AND DOWN THE STRETCH THEY COME!

It is the home stretch. I should be plugging away at the massive load of work I have to do, but instead I am starting up a blog so all y'all can keep tabs on me while I'm away (provided I actually remember to update this thing).
For those of you who don't know, I will be leaving for the land of chocolate, the Alps, and political neutrality shortly after finals (possibly after turning in my SAGES writing portfolio? eh? eh? Yeah, that probably won't happen...) for a research job at the Adolphe Merkel Institute. I have either one or two days to turn myself around before I brave the airways on a sturdy Delta (via a Canadair Regional Jet 900, connection in Atlanta, and then a Boeing 767) airplane, only to arrive in Zurich around 7:50 am the next day. From there, I will make my way to Fribourg, my place of residence until July 28.
Suffice it to say, I am incredibly excited. I do not speak French, German, or Italian, so this should be interesting...I wonder how many Japanese people live in Fribourg...(the CIA World Fact Book did not make it look promising)?
That is all for now, I should really get back to being a productive student. Hopefully I can figure this blog thing out to make it a more lively site for all concerned
